This morning, CEO had the pleasure of hearing the story of 1818 Chophouse with co-owner, Megan Pashea. The development of this treasured local restaurant has been a labor of love, ingenuity and growth since she first opened the doors over 12 years ago along with her owners; fiancรฉ Adam Washburn and her father John Pashea.
Students had the opportunity to tour the restaurant and adjoining butcher shop and hear the story of how an entrepreneurial spark led to where they are today.
Through her experiences, Megan shared a wealth of lessons learned and advice for our young entrepreneurs:
โจHard work, dedication and PASSION are what equate to success.
โจAccountability, among your leadership team and staff, are crucial.
โจSometimes you have to do things more than once to figure out what you truly need.
โจEveryone has to start somewhere. Donโt discount hiring someone, or being hired, just because you arenโt proficient in the required skills. If you are a great communicator, can make eye contact, carry on a conversation, be friendly, prompt, trustworthy, dedicated and open to feedback and growthโฆ you can be successful anywhere.
Megan, thank you so much for welcoming our crew this morning with delicious treats and an inspiring story. We appreciate your time and dedication to our community!
