This week, CEO had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Mario Hayek (Dean – SIUE School of Business) and Jo Ann May (Director – Small Business Development Center for the Metro East) at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville! Students heard the entrepreneurial journey of Dr. Hayek and learned about his role as Dean. They were also able to hear offerings from the School of Business and the incredible resources that ANY community member can access through the SBDC.

As an added bonus, students met with Dr. Cem Karacal and Dr. Chris Gordon (Dean and Associate Dean of Engineering) and were able to tour the School of Engineering’s labs and innovation spaces for engineers and entrepreneurs. They were able to get a behind-the-scenes look at how SIUE Engineering student are utilizing these spaces to collaborate, solve problems and create innovative solutions that are leading to incredible new business opportunities.

WOW! What an awesome insight to the incredible entrepreneurial resources that exist right in our backyard!
