This week, CEO had the unique opportunity to peek behind the curtain of the Phillips 66 Wood River refinery!
Ryan Frank (Tanks Project Manager & Mechanical Engineer) joined class as a guest speaker to explain the business, science, career opportunities and community outreach initiatives of P66.
Following his visit, we joined the Riverbend CEO Program for a joint tour of the refinery and had the opportunity to hear from plant manager Heath Wanamaker. This discussion sparked many great questions surrounding leadership, managerial skills, career paths within the refinery business, and more!

Ryan led us on a fascinating bus tour of a portion of the 2,700 acre refinery, making a pit stop at the training facility! Wow!
Each year, the Wood River Refinery opens its doors to our CEO programs. They volunteer their resources, time and energy to our students. Our students always walk away with a wealth of knowledge and new understanding that sticks with them long after the visit.
