>>> Do you know the #1 ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ 90% ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐โ๏ธ Its not a lack of marketing or bad partnerships...the #1 reason most startups fail is that there ends up being ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ for the product/service that was createdโผ๏ธ <<<
It is one thing to seek out customer feedback. It is another thing to actively listen and put that feedback into practice.
This week's Villhard workshop was aimed at letting students experience the mistake that many entrepreneurs make...designing a product or service that THEY love, instead of focusing on the HERO OF THEIR STORY...their CUSTOMER!
The key was not to design a wallet that they individually wanted, rather, to listen to their partner's problems, needs and wants and put their "customer's" ideas into a creative prototype.
Students were left with an assignment. Over the next month, they must do TWO key things with regard to budding SIDE HUSTLE ideas:
๐ฌ ๐๐๐๐ to potential customers. Interview them about their problems and needs. Pitch them their individual business solution and ๐๐๐๐๐๐ to their feedback.
๐ก ๐๐๐๐๐๐ a prototype...A sketch/drawingโฆA low fidelity exampleโฆPerform the service for a friend/relativeโฆeven for themselvesโฆSee what customers think of itโฆand not just their parents or closest friendโฆMore importantlyโฆdiscover if they actually enjoy making/performing it!
If need be as a result, students will change or pivot their ideas.
CEO, we cannot wait to hear about your feedback in January and see what you are creating!
